If you think it’s unconventional to borrow clothes from your photographer for a session, hear me out…This post is for you!
Many photographers invest in client closets with clothing items they know will photograph well. Such as, dresses, baby clothes, hats, shawls, etc. They are usually items that fit in the color palette they prefer to edit and look great in locations they like to shoot in. But most importantly, it’s because they want one less thing for you to have to worry about!
Most likely, the style of photos that attracted you to your photographer in the first place didn’t happen by chance. Being mindful about wardrobe before a session takes place makes a huge difference in the final product. That means, sticking to a color palette, choosing items with texture as opposed to patterns, items that are comfortable to wear and photograph nicely.
Often, I find that clients feel quickly overwhelmed when trying to dress the whole family for photos. It’s a lot for a busy family to narrow down a date for a session, let alone figure out what everyone’s going to wear. Enter: the client closet. This is why they exist! To take one less thing off your plate and promise that you’ll look amazing. Who doesn’t want that?
A lot of thought, research and money goes into building a client closet. As a photographer who has one, I always jump for joy when a client wants to use it! All of my items are cleaned after each use and tucked away for its next debut. So, if your photographer suggests use of their client closet for your session, jump on it! It’s a service they’ve worked hard to be able to provide and you deserve to have one less thing to worry about!
This sweet motherhood session was styled by me, with items I offer in my client closet! Contact me for more info regarding my sessions!
